Nancy started working for Dr. Hendricks in 1964 managing his clinic, which also meant doing the bookwork and overseeing the optical shop.  In 1985, she started working in the optical shop part time.  Nancy liked the optical shop so well that when the other ophthalmologists moved to their new location in 1992, she purchased the optical shop from Dr. Hendricks.  Nancy remained the owner of Arcade Opticians until 2008 at which time she sold the shop to Deanine .

Deanine began  working in the field of optics in 1980.  She worked for a national chain in Cedar Rapids and in a franchised location in Iowa City until 1989, when she moved to Illinois.  Deanine worked for the same national chain in Illinois before taking time off to pursue her college education.  When Deanine returned to Iowa, she managed a large retail optical store in the west side of Cedar Rapids.  She also helped two local optometrists move their practice to a new location in Hiawatha prior to purchasing Arcade Opticians in 2008.   

Karen started working for Dr. Hendricks in the late 1960’s as a technician and contact specialist.  She took time out to raise her family and returned working with Dr. Hendricks and came to work with Nancy at Arcade Opticians in the early 1990’s.

Arcade Opticians/A Perfect Pair is a small and personable optical shop.  We usually know our customers by name when they come in the shop.  Since we do very little advertising, most of our new customers come to us from referrals.  We pride ourselves on taking care of the needs of our customers.  We have been known to deliver glasses to a home, go to nursing homes to adjust glasses, and open the shop on an evening or Sunday for a customer that can’t came in during business hours.  In fact, there is almost nothing within reason that we will not do for our customers.
